AL CAPONE

Al Capone was an American mobster who gained popularity in the 1920s and 1930s while Prohibition was in effect. Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1899, he eventually relocated to Chicago and was involved in organised crime there.

A huge network of illicit businesses, including prostitution, gambling, and bootlegging, came under Capone's influence. He was renowned for his violent methods and propensity to resort to violence in order to keep his position of authority and influence.

Capone was eventually brought down by law enforcement officials who charged him with tax evasion. In 1931, he was sentenced to 11 years in prison, and he spent the rest of his life in and out of various prisons and mental institutions.

Despite his criminal activities, Capone remains a popular figure in popular culture, and his life and career have been the subject of numerous books, movies, and television shows.
